Ju 87R-2 done! (pics inside)

Well, I finally finished my 1/48 ProModeler Ju 87R-2 Stuka yesterday. I’ve had this one on the bench for about 6 months, because I’m lazy and I’ve been playing too many video games. But she’s finally done and in the display case.

Constructive criticism is always appreciated! Thanks!

Sweet looking Stuka…I can almost hear the sirens screaming! How was the kit? Which paints did you use?

Great looking bird, really nice camo on it.

I have a guees of what game you were playing[:)]

That’s a great looking Stuka! Nice clean build.

Jerry

Well done, nice camo job.

I liked the kit…had a couple fit issues, but nothing major. All my painting was done with Model Master enamels. The decals went on without Future, because the paint was a semi-gloss. Testors Dull-cote was applied over everything. Masking was done via Black Magic precut masks.

You’d probably be close. I’ve actually been playing SOCOM 3 lately…and it’s kicking my butt!

Thanks! My first splinter camo, so it was kinda challenging. There are things I would have done differently, like not putting on the rear stabilizer bars until the painting was done. But overall, I’m very happy with it. I can’t wait to shoot my He 111 in the same colors!

Very nice build! I always thought the Stuka was a great looking bird, and you’ve done a great job building it up. Very nice paint.

Excellent job on the build, John; nice and clean!

Thanks for all the compliments, they’re much appreciated!

Really nice build! [tup] I’ve got a passion for German aircraft, and you’ve done justice to a real classic. [:)]

Really nice work, good example of a classic warbird.[:)]

This is very nice model. Who’s the manufacturer[?] Did you used spare parts[?]

Well done, especially the camo. My only comment would be to try a wash, especially in areas like the engine grill, which really make those details pop and give more depth.

A very nice, clean build that shows off your craftsmanship. Some modelers prefer to weather and age a plane for realism, but this kind of factory-fresh look always has a unique style that is just as impressive. The Stuka has always been one of my faves and this example fortifies that appreciation all the more.

Thanks! Yeah, I hardly weather any of my a/c at all…I prefer the “factory-fresh” look myself. I feel that it shows off the paint schemes better, and I’m a big fan of obsure or complicated paint schemes.
