The snow finally melted and we had a sunny day yesterday, so I was able to go out in the backyard and get some decent photos of my Ju-52 in Lufthansa livery. This is the Eduard 1:144 kit.
Also, since finishing the Ju 52 I did a Minicraft DC-3 (also 1:144). I used quite old decals, and had to use Decal Film. This created other problems, so the decaling is pretty bad. I rushed the last few steps 'cause it was not going to be a beauty anyway.
Heck of a nice backyard! Did they tell you the airfield was there when you bought the house?
I think these look great. I like the -52 very much, as I did that livery in 1/72 a number of years ago.
Did you swap in the tail skid, or did it come that way?
Normally I have a real aversion to Nazi stuff, but hey I figgered if you are going to go in, go all the way.

Many moons ago I flew in an Aloha DC-3 from Oahu to Hawaii with my folks…and a chain gang. It had paratroop style seats. Later we drove up to the prison and bought a boatload of the koa wood stuff they were making. Ah, the '50s.
The Ju 52 kit comes with both a tailskid and a tailwheel. The military version uses the tailwheel, the civil the skid.
The decal sheet for the DC-3 included flagship names, but I gave up putting the small decals on because they were so bad. They might have just been old, so I had to put decal film on to keep them from splintering. That made them stiff. Plus, the adhesive had dried out. So I only put the decals on that I really needed. I intend to build several more DC-3s, so the lessons I learned on this one will be a help for the latter ones.

The photo was taken with a photo backdrop that I shot at the Anoka County airport. However, I need sunlight to get the crisp shadows, and highlights.
