Does anybody make a model of athe Ju 390, the huge, experimental, six-engined reconiassance/ bomber the Germans had in developement towards the end of WWII. I really want to build one of these. I have a thing for huge aircraft ( B-36, Ju-290, etc…).Will somebody please tell me something?
No but Lucien (one of our own) should be along shortly to tell you about his major conversion of two 290s into this bird.
Your best bet is likely to buy two of Revell AG’s Ju 290’s and kit bash them into a 390. I’m pretty sure no one makes a kit of the 390. Like Swanny says though, Lucien is the man to ask.
Thanks, but I thought someone made a conversion kit for a Ju 390. Oh weel.
Sutciffe/Contrails produced a rough vacumform kit of the Ju 390 about 25 years ago. I have the kit so I know it exists. You might find one in a model swap or old model sale meeting but as vacumform kits are considered unacceptable these days finding one will be a strock of luck. If you find one it should be cheap as current modelers only want expensive resin kits.

No conversion, alas, but the easiest way would be to kitbash one from two Ju 290s. It’s a lot of wasted plastic, though, and the way the kit is broken down makes expanding the fuselage difficult at best.
However!
It has been done. Check this out:

I toyed with the idea of a 390, but becuase it’s so much wasted plastic I settled for the somewhat easier Ju 290Z Zwilling. That’s not to say I’m not going to try it in the future, just not right now.
An addition to my original kit identification for the Ju 390. I checked my references and can state that there were also vf kits produced by Frank Modellbau, Airmodel and possibly Combat (usually a copy of the Airmodel kit). Of these I would suggest finding the Frank Modellbau kit as kits from this producer are generally of good quality. Rosemont Hobbies has taken over the entire line of Combat kits so you may want to contact them via the web. Hope this helps your search.

Sorry, not much for kit-bashing, but those conversions/ kits sound good. About how much would you sell that sutcliffe kit for, Richard? No offense, ust seeing what the price would be. Thank you.
