JSF

Does anyone have more information for F35 JSF releases? I’m excited that Lindberg may release one soon…but when?

You might want to wait on that Lindberg kit to be out a while. They don’t have the best reputation lately.

Panda makes one in 1/48 but I have heard it’s bad.

When the F-35 becomes operational the usual suspects will probably all release something.

hi khaos, just see a tamiya 1:72 jsf on www.ebay.ph.

This will be a revox of the Italeri kit.

All of the kits of the JSF/F-35 currently extant represent pre-production/development aircraft. Since the aircraft itself is not due to enter service for a few years yet, all of the current kits may be considered somewhat speculative.

I can’t wait for the F-35 kits to start coming out. The ones now are based on the prototypes. I am going to wait until the production models are out. I made the mistake of buying a F-22 when they first came out and it too was based on the prototype, The model was nothing like what the production Raptor is. I am not going to make the same nmistake twice.

Thanks for the replies all, I did finally find something (on E-Bay).

I purchased a 1/144 kit from ACE in S. Korea. It is the X-35B STOVL version, and quite frankly, it is beautiful. Zero flash, recessed panel lines, etc. The curious thing is the Revell AG trademark in the fuselage. I might feel bad about this being a knock off of some sort, but… I’ll get over it.

From what I’ve seen on F-16.net, this is a pretty acurate representation of the test airframe - markings too.

Good morning Gents,

For those of you open to building a “X” version in 1/48 might want to look into an offering by Fox 3 Studio’s. These are resin upgrade/ conversions intended for the Panda Models kit. According to the Fox 3’s September flier, all you need to keep from the Panda kit is the landing gear, cockpit and a few other items. The upgrade will contain full replacement upper and lower fuselage halves with corrected wheel wells and doors, canopy, etc.

They will have kits to reproduce the USAF X-35A, USMC X-35B STOVL and USN X-35C variants.

Once again, this might be an option if you wish to model an “X” aircraft.

I’ve seen a few of these incredible aircraft in the sky’s above west Fort Worth and they are a sight to behold!

Have a great day!

I am working…have been for about a year…on the Revell F-35 STOVL in 1/72. It is an Ok kit. I am sure the Tamiya one is much better. I got this cheap off ebay. The biggest problem I have is that it can only be built in “verticle T/O configuration.” (engine pointed down) Alos there are no weapons as it is the X-version. Pretty basic. Lots of seam and fit work.
