just getting back on line after a computer snag. I am presently building the lower wings of my 1/16th jenny canuck and was wondering if anyone out there has an idea of how the rigging cable for the lower ailerons were run to the cockpit controls.Cheers! John.
I’ll look a bit closer at what I have but it looks like the lower ailerons were connected to the upper ailerons by means of two struts without any cables running from the lowers to the fuselage. I’ve seen two configurations of the connecting struts:
Two separate struts which were totally vertical.
Two struts which come together on the lower aileron in a ‘V’ configuration.
Here’s a shot of how the cable goes into the fuselage from the top aileron.
Here’s a diagram that may help with the overall control cable routing. It seems to show an aircraft with upper ailerons only. But I’ve yet to see any evidence showing an aircraft which had lower ailerons as having any additional cables to what you see here:
(that doesn’t mean that I’ve seen all the evidence out there, though!)
Hope this helps and doesn’t hinder!
Fade to Black…
Hey Blackwolf, thank you very much for the info and pics.Yes,that would explain why I cant find any info on the rigging of the lower ailerons.Other than the inter-ailerons struts there wasnt any.As for the parallel or V strut arrangement I think I will go with the Jenny Canuck in Ottawa. Cheers! John.
