I’m headed up from south Florida tomorrow morning and I’m pretty excited. It’s going to be my first time with a contest entry so I’m just a little nervous too. But I’m going to keep it ‘real’ by not creating any expectations and my priority will be to focus on the fun. I was at IPMS Space Coast’s show last month and met some great peeps that are very talented and willing to share their techniques. That provided the inspiration for JAXCon. Anyone else headed there tomorrow? Cheers! Eric
Missed it. I was in St. Augustine shooting cannons all day at the Castillo. How did it go?
Glad you liked Space Coast’s show. We had a great turnout and the entires were fantastic. Not a dud in the bunch. (700+). Wish we had more vendors but theres always next time. Orlando runs it next year. (we alternate annualy with Orlando)
It went really well. I was surprised at the roominess of the venue ( @ the UNF campus)! Because of spaciousness, it’s hard to tell if there were as many people, models or vendors compared to the ‘cozy’ venue Space Coast used.
I’m looking forward to Modelpalooza in Orlando. I was there last year and it rocked. Are you going to make it to Flight 19’s October show in Ft. Lauderdale?
Eric
I plan on being there in October for Flight 19’s show. I was supposed to be at Jax this year but the cannon shoot was a last minute thing. The UNF venue was a really good place for the show in the past. I didn’t like it much last year when they had it out by the airport in the hotel. It was cramped in the vendor area and the exhibit room was poorly lit. The UNF hall had the two combined and was well lit.
I also heard about a figure show down in West Palm or Lauderdale, any word on that?
No, I haven’t heard about a figure show, but I sure would like to know the specifics. WPB is just a short drive away. If anyone reading this could provide some info it would be greatly appreciated!
BTW, renarts, do you know who took People’s Choice at Space Coast’s show? I put my vote in for Tiger Werks, but left before the results were in.
