Finished the E8N1 yesterday and grabbed a couple of photos.
Added the main float rudder that is specific to the E8N1 after the photos were taken.
Want to thank everyone for all the support and for making the GB a great learning experience.

“Dave” turned out great.
Flawless build. Congratulations.
Great job, I am trying to get there.
Great job. I’ve been considering this kit along with the Pete. Well done
The Hasegawa E8N1 is a nicely detailed and engineered kit. I was skeptical of the lower wing mounting, but it ended up being more than robust enough for my clumsy rigging with the fishing line.
Both the N1 or N2 can be built as they share the same airframe with only minor differences.
From what I have gathered an E8N1 was launched for reconnaissance during the battle of Midway.
Think I will try another biplane floater for my next build.
Thanks again everyone for the support.
Amazing! Terrific craftsmanship. A real eye-catcher.
Looks amazing, perfect paint job. We’ll done!
Beautiful model, which is enough said. But I needed to add all this to make the 20 chr minimum post!
Thank you all for the comments. Wanted to set Dave on a Kure Type 2 Model 5 IJN catapult but resource considerations had to be made and the Wife won out…
For the record, I dislike that 20 char min. What is the point anyway?
I like it, totally works. Did you scratch build the plane truck?
No, the transport cart was included. It’s not a stable setup for display unless it were fixed. I still wanted to set Dave in the water for display. I’ve been looking at different options for creating a water based display but ones that appear relatively easy to create I’m not sure would look correct for a larger scale.
Pretty sure it’s to avoid people posting one word replies like “cool”, “sweet”, etc. those replies can seriously bog down a thread while adding nothing really useful to the conversation.
There are a lot of posts that I like but have no real reason to say more than that, hence I can just tag the “like button” to show interest without taking up space.
Beautiful Build. I love the paint scheme and the rigging came out great. Nice work!
Great work. I am not brave enough to tackle rigging, but you did a fine job on yours. Also a very interesting paint scheme. Glad you enjoyed the group build!
Thank you for hosting the GB. I really enjoyed building some of the older kits that are still readily available, but the E8N1 was the most enjoyable.
I’m planning on building a vignette for the Japanese GB XV.
