For years, the accepted method for painting Aotake was spraying metaliic blue over everything. It leaves a glossy surface. I’m wondering if it isn’t supposed to be flat, to reduce glare. For those who use the green in cockpits I have seen in some posts, what do you use?
The Aotake was an anti-corrosive applied to inner surfaces. The majority of the cockpit was overpainted in flat colors. These varied by manufacturer. White Ensign Models produces both Mitsubishi (a dark green) & Nakajima (a light yellow green) cockpit colors. I’ll edit this post & include a pic of Nakajima cockpit color. This will give an idea of the shade.
