Japanese aircraft colors

I was working on a few Japanese aircraft from WW2 and I’m needing the colors for the cockpit and the wheel wells I read it was metallic Blue but this just don’t sound right.

The cockpits had different colors depending upon teh manufacturer from what i have been learning. Mitsubishi, Nakajima, etc. each had their own “interior green” for lack of a better term. Most other interior surfaces were given a coat of “Aotake”, a clear, bluish green, as a sealant against the elements, like yellow zinc chromate was used on many US aircraft. Sometimes this was used in wheel wells, sometimes it was not. Research your particular aircraft type.

That is a more complex question than you may suspect! As SP said there wasn’t much standardization from company to company. If you don’t see what you need on the excellent websites Rich just posted please tell us what aircraft you’re modeling and I’ll see what I can turn up.
