Jagdtiger Question

I’m building Dragon’s Jagtiger #9036. The suspension arms have no provision to assure evenness or correct angle. How do I postition these arms evenly? The Dragon instructions are no help.

Looking for a clue from you ve[oops]terans!

dood_dood,
First let me say [#welcome].
Next, let me apologize for not being able to answer your question. I do offer my sympathies with regards to Dragon’s instructions. I think they are the worse that I’ve ever seen.
You’d think a company that could produce the quality of kits they do, that they’d be able to print some instructions that made sense.
Hoping some one will be a long to help you out.

they should have little tabs on the suspention that fit into the hull, making sure there level
i only remember them being loose but they are there

There are small index tabs molded on the hull sides to index your roadarms, with a corresonding depression in the roadarm itself.

I had this problem as well, Its hard to tell exactly where to position them, ill post some pics of mine so you can see how I did mine…Pics will be up soon…

Dave

here are the pics, It’s ok to vary the position a little as long as you remember that the the road wheels wont sit flat on a level surface if you do so.

Dave

Thanks, AF.

Question: Do you use model cement or CA on your track links? They look very clean in the pics.

no worries mate, I use revell liquid cement. I find it to be one of the best

Dave

I’d say you do a great job with it, AF!
I see you paint your tracks after assembly? Hand brushed or are you able to mask them?

I Paint them by hand, I find it to hard to paint the tracks then assemble them. The glue makes a mess when it gets on the painted track. How are you finding the build? Mines going great except for the hull at the very from being a little warped.

Dave

So far, so good. I’ve only done individual tracks one time before, and these Jagdtiger suckers are very intricate, but I’ll perservere.

I was pleasantly surprised to see the PE included.

Just a thought, assemble one roadwheel per arm. Attch the wheel to the arm.Put something under the hull so that it sits off the ground at the correct heigth. Maybe use a couple of stacks of coins. Then use some slower drying glue and glue the roadwheel arms to the hull and place the hull on your coin stacks. Push the road wheels down so that all touch the ground. When it dries the wheels will all be the same height and the same angle. Greg.

Sounds good, but put a large pane of glass under that set-up to have a really flat surface.
