I was part of the Panther group build. The group built various panther model configurations and scales. I built the 1/35 DML Jagdpanther out of the box. I built a diorama to depict the moment before a terrible fight!!! [}:)] These are my results:
1:35 Jagdpanther from DML (out of the box)
This is the start…
This is how it ended…
The Jagdpanther is the Hunting Panther…
…complete with kitty…
One of the crew members has something else in mind…
…
You ever sat there picking your feet and had the feeling 2 dogs were about to knock you over?..
Here is the link to the ENTIRE build, dial-uppers be patient hehe. The link is thumbnails that open into new windows.
Well that’s my build. I had so much fun because it was a group effort. I would like to join the Sherman build now, but I may be too exhausted [}:)] (I opened the VcFirefly DML kit I have…looked at the tracks, and passed out)
Comments and suggestions are welcome. None of my displays are “set in stone” so changes are always possible, and that’s what the best part of the group build is all about… building better models.
Thats great! Its nice to see German soldiers depicted as human beings… After all, despite the autrocities the Nazi’s committed, at the end of the day it was just ordinary guys fighting other ordinary guys.
There are a lot of good models here as the result of the panther group build. I’m sure the Shermie group will be displaying their stuff in… about… 6 weeks… You guys better build those shermies up because the forum is about to be crawling with cats [}:)]
Wow, there are even more pics here than in the Panther Group Build Thread. Great dio, Muzzleflash. I agree, there is human touch to this dio that really makes it cool.
BTW, as I have said previously, the Jadg really looks mean.
Thanks for the compliments. The group builds really have a lot to offer to everyone in them. Reading posts about users with good and bad results helps everyone down the line.
The Jagdpanther, the crew with the horse and cart, and the kneeling/pointing figure are all DML. The other figures are Tamiya except the foot-picker… I think he’s a Hornet figure.
Great job, looks real good. I like the unusual camo scheme, “unusual” is probably a better way to put it, because there was hardly such a thing as a standard como scheme.
The Jagdpanther was a real handsome vehicle, and a real menace. I’m glad they didn’t build more of them. [:O]
I saw the one at the Imperial War Museum back in the early 90’s. Some of the armor is cut away. I was really impressed by how thick it was, even on the side. It made me admire our intrepid Sherman crews all the more that they were able to take these things on and knock them out (which they did).
Great work Muzzlefalsh88, Like the guys say its nice to see a relaxed diorama once and a while also depicting common soldiers doing their thing… super job…
