Jack O'Lanterns

I loved carving Jack O’Lanterns as a kid so last year I downloaded some patterns and tried some of the more recent style stuff. I liked the results so I tried it again this year.

I’m posting here since though I bought some special tools I ended up just using my regular modeling toolbox. Everyone here should have the tools to do the same thing.

Boston Terror Jack O’Lantern, all I used was a template I downloaded from the internet and a simple X-Acto knife with a #11 blade.

And a Jack Russell O’Lantern. I screwed up the template on this one. Again I just used a pattern I downloaded and in this case I used my Dremel tool with a ball cutter.

My inspirations:

Very cool!

That’s pretty cool Gam

Nice!

As they say in Rome (or at least should)

Coolous & Groovious to the Maximus

Thanks guys!

As I said I’ve seen these on TV and thought they looked like a lot of work. But I was amazed how simple they were after I tried carving one of these- it took me about 30-45 mins to tranfer the pattern and carve the Boston Terrier one. There’s patterns for about every breed of dog or cat you can name out there on the internet. I’d love to see some of you guys try one and post it next year!

(Coolius Groovius Maximus…wasn’t he the guy in “Gladiator?” [whstl])

Great pumpkin work there, fer sure!
