Iwata HP-CS and Alclad II

Quick question for the Iwata HP-CS owners out there… have you sprayed Alclad with your brush and how satisfied were you with it.

Oh yeah, anyone try acrylics, epecially Vallejo through an HP-CS?

I am thinking of getting one and am torn between the HP-CS and CR because of the acrylic thing. But I think the Alclad would be the clincher!

Saltydog, the Iwata guy who used to be here use Alclad2 very successfully through his CS. I wouldnt worry about Alclad2 in any ab but an aztek so enjoy

Cool thanks! yeah I remember his Mustang now that you mention it… ok that does make it easier!

Appreciate the help!

Tom, I use both Alclad and acrylic (Vallejo) in my Iwata and I could not be more pleased. Just dont let Kremps see ya with it or she will take it away.

Hi there Tom old buddy. Of course you can spray ALCLAD lacquer with the HP-CS, I just followed the FAQ on ALCLAD and didn’t have any problems at all and yes I was very satisfied with the results.

I use mainly enamels through my HP-CS but have used acrylics (Tamiya & Gunze) without any issues.

Cheers
Darren

if its paint, the Iwata will spray it [:D] I have the HP-C Plus.

Speaking of Iwata, anyone have experience with the Eclipse and Revolution bottom feeds? Most of the post on this forum talk about the Iwata gravity feeds. How to the bottle feeder models compare to the Anthem or is it just a personal preference thing? Thanks in advance.

Hey! Azteks work just fine with Alclad! Here’s the Mustang I finished using Alclad run through my wonderful Aztek! Slick operation. Smooth finish. Easy clean up. Couldn’t be happier. And I also have an Iwata and enjoy that just as much as my Aztek.

the Revolution and the Eclipse are great Airbrushes, I actually use the HP-SAR for primer and base coats, I like the Iwatas better than anything on the market, but I have been spoiled by them, the Badger 155 Anthem is a great airbrush, a friend of mine has one and he loves it!

Thanks Ravenwing! Tom, I know you were partial to the Crescendo and Anthem with the Anthem being your favorite. Why the switch? Is it for NMF only or for all around painting. The reason I ask is that I was thinking about getting an Iwata for Xmas, but only because I think it would be nice to have one due to the hype.

I love the Anthem as well, and still will use it for some thing, and possibly the 175 Crescendo. But I need something to get more deatil for me and a gravity feed was on my wish list as well… so after weighing pros and cons I decided on the HP-CS… I’ve heard enough to convince me. The Alclad was the icing on the cake, I can do it nicely with the 155 and 175 but would prefer to stick to one main brush and use the others for big jobs as the needle/nozzle is bigger…

I havent got it yet but will be sure to tell you my opinion of it when I do!!!
