great start so far. Man that Alclad paint looks to be some amazing stuff.
I think you mean “MasterPix” [:D]
And it does look beautiful, Bill.
Thanks gunney & Paul !
gunney - there’s nothing like Alcad. I’ll NEVER use anything else, with results like this.
Here’s some pics of the work I did today. I added wiring to the rear bulkhead of the gearbay. I used shielding from an old audio cable, twisted in strands of two & three. One of these will be joining cable bundles that run from the bottom of the cockpit tub along the fuselage.

I also finished the gunbay wiring & detailing. The support arms are glued to the rear bulkhead, which is not glued to the “floor” yet. That’s why they aren’t in the notches yet. The kit instructions would have you add these after the fuselage is completed. I’ve lost/broken too many of these when I did it that way.

I started painting the detail in the cockpit today. No, it won’t have a one-armed pilot !

Tomorrow (Friday), I hope to add the wiring to the instrument panel, gunsight, and one that runs to the armored windscreen, along with the cable bundles that run from the bottom of the cockpit tub along the fuselage. And, if I have time, glosscoat the cockpit in preparation foer a wash.
Thanks again for your comments ! [8D]
beautiful Pix… But you make me wanna try one. What kit is this??? am resin or PE??? What references ya got??
Thanks woodbeck !
This is the Trimaster 1/48 kit. Everything is in the box, with the exception of the wiring, resin wheels, and decals (haven’t decided which markings I’ll use yet). There are pics of the white metal and PE that come with the kit on the first page of this thread. It’s not an easy build (it’s been described as “unbuildable,” but this is my tenth or eleventh one, with six more in the “pile.”)
Most of my reference pics are from websites, and stored on my computer. I’ll have to see if I can find the site from which they came.
Here’s a good page of wheel well & landing gear pics. Still haven’t found the site with the gunbays, though.

Thanks again !
Another great 262 Pix…you really do the Swallow some justice!
Looking magnifique, Pix!
So how many 262s does this one make? Soon, you’ll have more than the Luftwaffe ever did!
Looking forward to following this build, too.
Nice work Pix! Are you going to drop the slats on this baby?
Later,
Lee
Awesome… hmm I am going to the LHS today…w e’ll see.
Thanks Jeeves, Brian, & TA1996 !
TA1996 - I’ll probably drop the slats, but not the flaps. I used a Verlinden set once, and scratched them once. These will be scratchbuilt. It’s not very difficult.
woodbeck - this kit went out of production in 1990. If your LHS has older kits, they may have one. Good luck !
Hello Bill:
Thanks for the link in regard to Great Models for this kit. Need to pick one up. Really beyond me why I do not have not one Me-262 in the stash. I really do like this aircraft because of what it lead too after the war. Probably won’t build as many as you have but would at least like to build a couple of DML’s and probably the Tamiya kit too. May even do a Monogram kit also. I’m also taking notes, I’ve heard about fit problems on the DML kits. Not a deterrence for me as I accept the challenge. Just time and patience, plenty of patience time well
is another story. Will follow this build as you progress.
Chuck
Fly Navy
Thanks Chuck !
The challenges with this kit are mainly the fit of the engine nacelles, bottom of the fuselage, the fit of the lower wing to the fuselage, the forward wing roots, and main gear legs to the gear bay. I’ll show how I deal with these.
I feel that it’s a kit that deserves to be built.
Thanks again !
