It’s almost the end of the year, and like me I’m sure we didn’t get all our kits built this year. So which kit do you have that you absolutely want to build next year. For me I really want to build my Dragon Elefant. After that probably my Academy Hellcat. of course that will probably change after I open my Christmas gifts. [:p]
As soon as November arrives, I’ll start working on my 1/16 Full Option Sherman! I figured that since I have a Tiger I and a Stug IV, I should at least build them a friend…okay, perhaps “target” is a better term. [}:)]
In all seriousness, I take my tanks to competitions using the Tamiya battle units, and the Sherman is a worthy opponent. [;)] You should see how quickly it can move on a scale battlefield. Kit wise, the Tiger I and the Sherman are the best R/C kits on the market. I do plan however to convert my Sherman to an “Easy Eight” using BackYardArmor’s conversion kit. [:p]

Well for me I am going to be building one of those must build kits and that is one of the Four Tigers I have. The other one that I really want to build and if Shermanfreak was here I am sure he would get a tear in his eye, but I really want to build my Dragon Sherman Firefly. Of course this doesn’t include the two Wingy thingy kits that I started and need to finish as well.
First, my immediate plans:
1.) Finish the M-36.
2.) Finish the Mayflower
3.) Start with my entry for the Anzio Build - probably a Hornisse
Then by next year:
1.) Diorama 11 (bigger diorama this time…with the Jumbo)
2.) and kits??? I am not sure yet. I don’t have anymore kits beyond what I have mentioned so it all depends on what I will get myself for Christmas (lol). I’ll probably get a Tiger or a Panther. I hope Santa will pass by our house even though we don’t have a chimney.
Such discipline Dwight. I’ve laid off buying new kits except for exceptional sales. Still, I’ve added 7 new kits. Can’t build them at that pace. So far I’ve finished 2 out of 5 that I’ve started this year. Not good.
Rich, which Tiger are you leaning too? If they are Tamiya kits, the Tiger Late rocks.
Tigerman,
It is more of lack of choice rather than discipline. LOL. I have a small hobby budget so I cannot really stock up on kits but I do dream of someday having a large stock of kits in my stash. Oh well dreaming does not cost me a thing you know. LOL.
Well, right now I’m building an UH-1C in honor of my brother-in-iaw I hope to finish it before Christmas. The first of the year will be my initiation into my first group build the early Tiger I build. I also would like to start the build on my 1/48 H-46E helicopter of which I flew crewchief in the A/D models in VietNam. And of course I want to build more armor. Possibly a Stug, a Hummel, and another Panther. Thats the plan, but we’ll have to see how it all goes. Semper fi, mike
we are talking armor so i will have to go with the academy tiger 1 with full interior. but again we are talking armor.

I want to build the Tamiya Pershing and the DML M4A1 and M4A2 (russian) Shermans. I also want to work on the Academy Stuart and the AFV Club sd.kfz.11 halftrack. If I get all this done, who knows?
Well my first major project is going to be my Panther IR project. It is going to be in 1:72 consisting of a 251/20 “Uhu” a 251/1 “Falke” and 1maybe 2 Panther G’s with IR fits. I cant wait to get started [:)]
Mmmm… Tough call! With the short attention span that caracterizes my way of modeling, it’s really hard to say. There are a few kjits that have been hovering really close to the table for a while, though… Trumpeter’s S-Tank, Tamiya’s IS-3 (in the process of being superdetailled, but which I have not touched for a couple of years, and a series of 1/72 - 1/76 kits such as the Panhard 178, the ‘Hedi’ variant of the A7V, the Ambutank, the Ontos and Abrams (those last 3 have been started), and something for Mad Allied Day next month. I expect the first one to be completed will be the Mad Allied Day project, closely followed by a diorama featuring my 1/72 Merkava III (the tank is completed)…
For me, the next project is the NX-01 Enterprise due to a modeling club project. However, after that I’ll be building a SdKfz 232 and a PzKpfw III for a Diorama I’m working on. Once those are done, I’ll probably build the Stug III Ausf G that been “on-deck” for quite a while. Although the Dragon Wagon, FAMO w/trailer, or Academy Tiger I could move up.
Enjoy your modeling…
Hey DJ good to hear form another Panhard 178 fan. I will be building one for the Totally Insane 1/35th GB (35 in 48) at end of Jan. That is if I can get my hands on a 1/35 Panhard sourcing is a bit difficult at the moment. I know Alby do one (because I have built it) and so do Dragon. Just a matter of finding a stockist now.
Hey Jeff, have you already seen this book:

It came out a month or so ago. It’s bilingual (throughout) French/English. Fantastic stuff!!!
I’ll be looking forward to seeing how this Insane Build works out! Best of luck in your searches too!
Domi
Domi, your pic link didnt work !!
I’ve got to finish my Churchill for the Commonwealth GB, then I’ve got a Tamiya Panther G and the Academy Stuart Honey to do. And sometime soon I want to pick up the Academy early Tiger with the interior. That will keep my busy until sometime next spring!
I change my next project more than I change my underwear! Who knows! I just ordered the Dragon Ferdinand and I have been wanting to try my hand at Zimmerit, so I may be doing the Dragon Panther A. Then again, I have a birthday in 30 days and Xmas. Who knows what the future may have in store.
Go for the Zimmerit …I had great fun retro fitting an old Tiger 1 with some milli-put zimmer armour it wasnt to bad for first attempt if I say so myself. Best thing with scratch zimmerit is you can put in the damage where you like.
That’s where I am leaning. Iwas going to chip it up, add some tree branches…should be fun.
Well, my plans basically revolve around group builds, Although I am currently working on a jeep model for a little dio that I want to do before the Tiger build starts. I have Jwests build to do, a 3.7mm gun and the 24 hour 1/72 build as well.
What I really want to concentrate on is the Tiger build and the dio that it will occupy. And I don’t care if that takes me 3 years to finish, that’s what I am gonna concentrate on. The dio is going to include a scatch built 16t gantry. I know there’s a kit from DES, but this is one I want to tackle on my own. We shall see.
