Italian WWII A/C engine

Anyone out there in FSM land have pictures or other information on Isotta-Fraschini air-cooled V-12 airplane engines? I have a few pictures but I am going to have to scratchbuild the engine for the SAI-403 Dardo I want to build. Anyone able to help? Any Italian modeleres with a resource I could tap?

Woody - try http://www.axisaircraft.com
Click on “Italian,” and then “Engines.” There are color pics of Isotta Fraschini “Delta RC35,” “500 Asso,” and “750 Asso.” These are all I could find, they appear to be liquid-cooled V-12 engines (no data given w/ piocs). Hope this helps !

Hey Pix thanks for the information. The Delta is the engine I’m looking for. It looks like a liquid cooled inverted V-12 but it’s aircooled. I have those pictures but the ones on that site have an email address, so I’m going to email the fellow and see if he has more. Thanks again hopefully you have put me one step closer to pay dirt![;)]

^. . . Bump Still need info on this engine. Any Italian modelers out there with A/C resources they can share? [banghead]

Woody,

Try wwwgreatmodelswebstore.com and look under “Engines and Things”. Engines and Things is Canadian and have their own web site. I think it is www.engthg.net but I’m not sure. Anybody? I do remember that they had an Italian section. Their engines are in 1/72, 1/48, and 1/32 scales that I remember. They have a very extensive selection. They produce a number of variations of the same engine, say for example different variations of the gear case, or the magneto set up.

If you get to their web site you can download their catalog, or have it sent to you via the mail. rangerj

That was the first place I looked. [sigh] Your right about them. Their resin engines are awesome

Isn’t there an Italian A/C buff out there who can help a brother out?
