italeri's panther D built for the group build (pics)

hey guys this was a simple enought build with no major complications except i really dislike italeri’s tracks, i used show modeling zim which is actually made of paper hehe but i dont think it looks that terrible now, all said and done it was fun to do and i tried a couple of new things out, i make no claims to the acuracy of this model other than it looks like a panther to me.

all comments are welcome and thanks for looking.

Looks like a Panther to me too! Nice work biffa. [tup]

I second Bill…looks great as usual!!!

OMG It’s just awesome!!

Yep, that it is. Grab your GB badge too.

another splendid version of one of my favorite tanks!! and it looks awsome[tup][yeah]-- you have really got your technique down to a science my friend-- there have recently been a couple of other panther posts on the forum lately, and just out of curiosity, i was wondering how you felt about this panzer – not the kit or the build, but panther tanks in general---- thanks biffa-- super build— tread[:P]

Nice work! Great weathering and highlighting. The color of the wood tool handles is excellent.

Like I said before, tremendous talent. Fantastic job biffa!

Thanks for sharring,

Zip

Hey, maybe you should do a WIP with one of your future builds, and show us all there is to know about your techniques, Ron! You have some lovely ones applied here! Another great piece of work, I like it very much! [;)]

thank you guys, its always great to hear your feedback,

Tread, to be honest the panther isnt my favourite tank, i dont really dislike it but its kind of the same way i feel about the sherman as well, i just dont feel like im there yet if that makes sense, the earlier war tanks and especially the spg’s are what get me goin [:)]

eddie, i swear everytime i start a build i say im going to do this then i just get carried away like some kind of mad scientist and completely forget, i will keep trying.

Ron,
Supperb build as always. [tup] [tup] [tup]
The net on the front of the panther is a nice touch.

Ben

Very nice work. Your Camo is top notch for sure.

Thanks for sharing.

Graet job Biffa![tup][tup] The camo and weathering are awesome. The zim looks great. The biggest nitpick on that might be that it is overly even, but certainly there exist photographic examples of German armor with some extremely neat zim applications. The fact that it looks decently on scale is a big plus. I like the tie-down of the camo net. It’s not going anywhere and looks very plausible how a crew might well secure it. The biggest issue that I can see would be the one you identifiied, the tracks, but with them mostly hidden by the skirts, even than falls into the nit-picking category.

Very nice job, since this is a “D” the flap for the bow machine gun would be inoperable in this configuration, with the rope or cable and netting on the bow. I really dig the paint and weathering. Super job on the cat.

Steve

[;)] As that classic 'ol song goes, “You who who got that [:-^] maaagic touch…doo waa” …that thrills us alllllllllll so much! Yep. Steve

Very nice build! It has inspired me to do one of my own. Question: why the Italeri kit? I always hear bad stuff about this kit, and how much better the Dragon kits are. I personally think your build is excellent and think the Italeri kit may be unfairly maligned… Damon.

thanks guys your comments are appreciated, hi Damon i buy a lot of these older kits on ebay and such cheap for the simple reason they are fun to build and i feel it is a shame to never at least try them just because there are newer better ones, this particular one was built for the italeri group build i personally think italeri are for the most part very underrated. i thinks it is worth building and i had fun doin it.

Looks really good. I’m with treadwell on this one, you have the finishing down to an artform. Congrats Ron.

Regards,

Terry.

Biffa,

the Panther looks great. I’m not a fan of this tank, but I really like yours. the weathering is great. subtle, but very realistic looking in my opinion. I’d also be interested in seeing a WIP on your builds!
