Italeri's old Fiat BR.20M in 1/72

Hey guys,

I should have a full build article on this beast on aircraftresourcecenter.com (ARC) in a couple weeks. It was actually a fun build that turned out better than I had hoped!

Just click on the image and check it out…

Joe

You’ve made the old kit look very nice. Great build & paint job. Nice work, keep em coming.

Thanks Rick…glad to see you liked it. I love the way it looks…very different than so may other WW2 aircraft.

Joe

Hey ninedriver is that kit still out there or am I going to have to try ebay to find it?

I remember that one! Great job on the build.

Falcon039…it has been re-released several times. If you can’t find it at any model sites…try ebay or I’ll send you one of two bagged kits I still have for the cost of shipping.

Thanks again guys!

Joe

Great build! I love Italian A/C, so much style.[:)] I was wondering what color you used for the tan? You wouldn’t happen to know of any references for italian aircooled inverted V-12s would you?

Hi Woody,
I’m glad you liked it. The top colors are Polly Scale’s Italy Camo Yellow for Italian Medium Yellow and Polly Scale RLM 62 for Italian Medium Green. The belly was ModelMaster Italian Gray/Blue. Not sure about the references for an “air cooled” inverted V-12…can’t say I’ve heard of that one.

Joe

That’s a great looking build.

Again nice to see something a little different.

Karl

Now thats a sharp looking plane.
The front of the canopy looks very mean.
Very impressive paint work ,I really love what you have done with
the camo.I’ll keep an eye out for this one in the hobby shops.
Btw how many schemes does the kit come with?

Nice job ! I really like the Italian camo schemes. What is the unit insignia forward of the fuselage band? Well done !

Thanks guys for the kind words…I think my very old kit came with decals for two different a/c but I don’t know what the newer releases have. This a/c was flown by the Japanese, Italians and even the Germans (to a very limited degree) so there are many possibilities. The marking on the side of the nose is common to all Reggia Aeronautica a/c of the period. Its an axe blade on a pole and I believe refers to a period of Roman history…though I have to admit I forget the story…I’ll have to look that up again!

Joe

well done joe. looks excellent. wish my attempt at an italian marked bird would have turned out so good. haveing trouble with the tail. the paint wont stay down.

joe

Thanks Fightnjoe…and pixilater, I’m sorry…you asked about the insignia just ahead of the fuselage band. Its actually a Daffy Duck as are the little paintings on the tail…apparently the Italians enjoyed Disney also.
There is a full build article on aircraftresourcecenter.com on this bird now on the April 29th page…check it out for more pics!
