Italeri's new A-10

Well here the posting from Hyperscale on the new A-10A kit Italeri has just released

http://kits.kitreview.com/italeri2655reviewbg_1.htm

From the looks all they did was added the ground refueling door, dual position flaperons (opened or closed), an opened Right Avionics panel to the old ESCI kit, the cockpit HAS NO detail, and it has no upgrades that are current on all flying A-10’s, no GUI, LASTE, LARS antennas, RAW antennas are of the early system, and the weapons look as they came from the old ESCI stock pile, and it’s more expensive then Revellograms

From the looks I’ll stick with the old Revellograms kit, at least the cockpit is detailed, as with the wheel wells, and it has both old (Baseball Diamond) & new (small round bumps or ZIT’s on the nose & tail cones) RAW antennas

Thats a bummer Cuda, you’d think somebody would do a new mold fer this lil Jem… Well I guess this wont be coming home anytime soon w/ me…

Thanks for the heads up my friend.

Flaps up, Mike

Don’t dispair yet. The new tool 1/48 A10 from Hobby Boss/Trumpeter is on the way.

Regards, Rick

Cuda,

From what I saw it did have LASTE, but its still quite a dog. The nose profile is waaaay too boxy, engraved panels are more like trenches and the HUD framing is completely wrong. Doesn’t seem to be much in the way of good in this kit. Its amazing considering the quality of most recent Italeri stuff. Their Chinook is amazing.

I will not be adding that one to my collection. It still looks like RM has the only game in town for a good A-10. Notice I didn’t say great.

Oooh. I just got the RM A-10 kit. Looks like I made the right choice

I have both the Tamiya and RM kits. I was hoping the Italeri kit would be more up to date, but oh well, what can ya do???
