Italeri - Panther Ausf A

Hello all:

I couldn’t pass up the deal on this kit. $5.00 new in the box. It was one of my latest additions to the “to-build” stash. My question is how does this kit compare to other kits of this Panther type?

Cheers;

Gregory

i,m sorry to say its a little better than the Tamiya Panther Ausf A but no way near as good as the Dragon Panther Ausf As

the zim is too thick if you want to add it, its better to sand it down so its thinner

for $5 its ok

Captain Caveman;

Thanks for the information. I took a look at the kit and the first thing I did notice was the Zimmerit and its Out-Of-Scale look. I have never built Axis armour (British and Commonwealth normally) So I took a chance when I saw the price tag. I agree with you on the Dragon opinion, I prefer their kits for the construction and especially the variety of subjects. Thanks for the reply.

Cheers;

Gregory

Boy, do I feel robbed. I picked up that kit about a year ago for $30 CAD. It’s not a bad kit. Haven’t built it yet. There are some major accuracy issues apparently, but it’s not something I’m concerned with anyways.

I wouldn’t use their zimm, I’d just apply my own were I you.

For $5 you can’t go wrong. Spend another $17 on Cavalier zimmerit and you are set to go.

dont spend anymore money on it, use it as a practice zimmaret kit

the tracks need changing but your better of trying to get some spare tamiya or dragon tracks from someone that uses aftermarket tracks
