hey guys,
This is not my latest work, but my favorite[;)]. I finished the dio up this fall (2004)
and the model was built in July. It was my first attempt at a 3 tone camo scheme on a 1/35 vehicle. It includes italeries demag, a tamiya Zundapp and figs by tamiya and dragon. I also attempted a first time at camo netting. Its cheescloth with cut tissue paper lengths in it. The trees are from woodland scenics. Unfortunatley, I rushed this one out. I painted the figs in a hurry. Paying very little attention to details on some, and didn’t dry brush or wash any of them [V]. But it still got me a “best of Show Juniors” (wich is by the way, not a very hard title to earn when you are going up against a 10yr old who build his first car model[V])
Oh, and the title of the Dio is “Herbst” which is German for Fall.
Please ignore the german gray figure climbing on the vehicle. He was just put there as a filler for the competition and I never took him off. Also, This probably isnt a very accurate dio, I’ve got the germans in early-er war uniforms and the vehicle with a 3 tone camo… oh well, MUCH more research on m current dio.
Now, for the pics!
Well, I think you’re being a bit harsh on yourself. I have yet to build a dio myself and it looks pretty cool to me. The Demag looks like a good clean build as well as the Zundap. Keep it up, your headed down the right path.
thanks guys!
I figure if I go hard on my self, then I will go hard on myself for my next dio. Hopefully getting it near (still a far ways away) perfect.
Oh, and I really recommend this kit to a beginner who wants to learn link and length and iny tracks.
