Please give me the scoop on 1/35th scale Italeri Armor kits. Any worth building? How is the quality? I have a chance to pick some up at low prices.
Italeri kits are usually very good. They have very finely molded detail and lots of separartely molded small detail parts that other companies mold onto the model. I have not had a bad experience with any of their kits. If you can give specific kits, you will get more kit-specific feedback and can probably locate some review. Here are a few.

most are good but there are afew old ones you should watch out for. I like italeri alot though.
HeavyArty, thanks for that link, I have often wondered about their quality as well as I am mainly a Tamiya modeler!
I’ve liked all the Italeri armor I’ve built, which includes the following:
M4A1 Sherman
Leopard 1A4
Elefant (evidently folks have issues with this one)
M24 Chaffee
Crusader Mk II
M7 Priest
Hetzer
Tiger (P)
M-47 (my fave!)
Fiat/Ansaldo M13-40
Again, I liked 'em all!
Of course, I discovered them (via Testors) after having gotten into armor modelling with the 1/32 (and some 1/35) Monogram armor kits. This was before I had seen a Tamiya kit. But the Italeri stuff is actually probably better than the old Tamiya stuff, so there you go.
I just built their Sturmtiger and with some work it turned into a very nice kit. Even has molded zim, indy tracks, engine bay, and some interior. Another nice kit is the Chaffee and Sherman. Generally they make nice kits, but do require a bit of patience to build. One kit I wasn’t completely happy with was the M1A2.
they are usually very good kits
[:D] i have built a few italeri kits but no armor as yet ,but all the kits i have built went together pretty nice.is any help to you.[:D]

Italeri have there good and bad,it is just what you make of it.I had a few that I have built in the pasts and thier quaity is just are good as Tamiya if not beeter on some of thier kits.My ideal of a good kit is what I can make out of it because you can get a bad Tamiya kit too.Have fun and buy a few just not from Tamiya or Italeri but from all of them and have fun with them.Digger
I went ahead and picked up two kits for now. I choose the Puma heavy armored car and the Strumtiger heavy assault motor. With all my current and upcoming project I don’t know why I needed more kits, but they’ll look good in the collection. I just can’t seem to pass up I good deal, or what I think is a good deal anyway. The stash grows ever larger, going to have to ask the wife for more closet space.
No complaints from me. I’ve built a few of them, and have a few more on the stack, waiting their turn on the workbench. The quality is generally very good, with some minor cleanup. Only thing I can say is that with most of their military trucks that I’ve built, the frames don’t always line up so nice, so a lot of care is needed when working with this.
I just bought my first ever Ital 1/72 scale kit (the Sherman) and what a cool kit, not only do you get an engine and a trannie, but you also 2 styles of track a rubber band type chevron block set and link and length steel chevron set. I’ve also built a lot of 1/35 Ital stuff and never had any problem’s with them either. And their usually cheaper than anybody else’s too!
I am just finishing up their Chaffee kit.
Its a great little kit with lots of tiny parts. The grab handles had me cursing but I managed to get them all on without losing any. (Well I did lose them but found them again!)
It looks great though and is ready for the paint.
I have no problems with Italeri kits.
The plus side is they do some stuff that no one else does and the price is reasonable.
What were people’s isses with the Elefant kit? I have one on the way for the Elefant/Ferdinand build and now I’m wondering if I made a mistake in saving a few bucks getting it on sale.
I enjoy them. Just stay away from the Old ones. Their directions were horrible, and I didn’t like the plastic they used to use.
Hello.
I am happy with Italeri kits . I have built their Leopard 1 Series , Crusader II , and III , M-47 ( Great Kit), Puma Armoured Cars , Elefant,Hetzer, Panzer IV Series,M-4A1 Sherman, M-24 Chaffee, and " Kangaroo" APC . I was pleased with the results, and for the price , I think they are worth it.
