Italeri's Hurricane II C in desert colors

I figured I’d put up a few photos of what has kept me busy for the last few months. This is Italeri’s 1:48th Hurricane II C done up for A. Houle in Egypt '42. I added resin exhausts, Master’s brass gun barrels, Eduard’s photo etch, Maketar paint masks for the roundels and fin flashes, Flight Dec decals for the hornet and serial number, Avialogy stencils and an EZ line antenna. The entire piece was painted with Vallejo’s model air (azure blue, middlestone and dark earth) and panel line washed with Windsor and Newton oils. I included an Airfix oiler cart and set everything on an Eduard PSP plate for the time being.

Today or tomorrow, I’ll set the whole thing into a wooden base, cover it in plexiglass, and see if my local air museum wants it.

Nice looking Hurricane

What a SUPERB job on that Hurricane!! Desert and Winter are my favorite camo’s and you captured the weathered look.

There is a colour photo of Hurricane fighter that returned from a dusty mission in North Africa and it was pulished on War History.com. That was to be the paint job I hoped to do someday I am glad you did something similar and posted pictures as well as letting us know the paints used.

Thanks!!!

Great looking build, thanks for posting.

Thanks very much everyone, the kit was a bit of a putty hog and badly warped when I opened the box, but I did like the included engine and cowls.

Nice work. Thanks for sharing.

Nice build!

Very nice diorama. I like the weathering of your aircraft.

Can’t tell it was a dog of a kit, you did a great job on her! Love the faded paintwork!

Really nice Hurricane! Great job!

That looks really good. I have a Tamiya Hurricane in the stash. Seeing this makes we want to get on it. Great work.

Awesome looking Hurricane! I really like how you’ve weathered the upper wing roundels.

Great Job!

Excellent work…

Nice! I’m just on the verge of finishing the 1/32 old Revell kit! Did my first oil wash on it today too!
