It really doesn’t matter if you like armor, ships, planes or whatever. I was just wondering what is the best model kit of all time? I know everyone has their favorite kit, or the kit that they think was the best over all, so it would be nice to hear what you think. [8D]
Haven’t built it or got, but I want it so bad… Tamiya’s 1/350 USS Enterprise
Tamiya’s 1/35 Dragon Wagon … superb engineering.
I found the dragon wagon to be a very easy kit to build, and I throughoutly enjoyed it.
One thing I found absolutely GREAT was the academy m60. It came with vinyl parts that would fit over the road wheels, thus giving a very realistic result, and NO PAINTING of the rubber portion of wheel was required!!
I also like the Trumpeter t54/55 series of models. I know, I know, all of you like Tamiya. I’m still very happy with mine
to be honest i really havent found the best kit yet. i honestly hope i never find one that i consider to be the best. each build, even the most difficult, in retrospect is better than the last. when i find the best kit then i wont need to do any more.

Right now, the Tamiya P-47 family is my current favorite. The engineering is superb, the fit is excellent and the detail outstanding. The Tamiya Dragon Wagon would be my choice for military vehicles.
I have too many answers for plastic kits, but for resin kits I am going with the 5 Star Models 2s6m Tunguska. Superb casting, no bubbles or flash, excellent details and the small parts are easily separated from the resin “sprue” trees.
I’d like a 1/1 scale sherman or tiger!!! lol
ICM’s 1/48 Spitfire family are excellent kits. Aftermarket anything (with the exception of decals if you wanted something different from the kit marking options) would be an insult to them.
The engineering is top notch, the details captured in the moldings are mind blowing and the engines are practically kits in themselves.[:p]
I built one for someone else, one of these days I’ll have to pick up another and keep it for myself.
Would have to say the Dragon Wagon. Never have I looked at a kit and sen that many pieces and the next thing I knew it was all together with out a hitch.
The best kit I ever built must be the 1/72 Fujimi F7U Cutlass. It just went together like a dream.
I build mostly Heller, Revell, and Monogram, so I wouldn’t know[%-)]
I guess the dragon wagon is good. Should of got it when it was on the shelf. I’ll get it next time.
