This is the old Revellogram B25J. I got this from the grandkids for Christmas. I haven’t built a plane in over 35 years.
This was challenging in several ways. Fit was problematic, instructions for the two variants weren’t clear, and I didn’t know where to start! Lots of putty, stretched sprue and Mr Surfacer on this one.
Anyway, MM enamels preshaded with flat black on the bottom, black and a bit of medium green on top.
I clear coated with Tamiya acrylic and it took a whole little bottle. I’ll use Future the next time, and the next, and the next… Oil washes in what panel lines existed.
Decals were pretty good, but bright. I toned everything down by mixing a bit of tan into the dullcote. Lost the darn tail gun cover so I sculpted one.
Interior is all painted with MM acrylic and Vallejo. References revealed this would have been all interior green inside.
[Y] Well your 35 year layoff (on planes at least) does not show here. Nice clean finish! Looks like you overcame all the obstacles you mentioned with great results. I do like those Air Apache Mitchells![t$t]
I was quite an aircraft modeler back in the day. When I got back into the hobby I built cars almost exclusively for about 15 years. Started on armor about a year ago thanks to the degenerates here on FSM.
Stik I love those guys and what they accomplished. They essentially turned this plane into a huge gunbus.
Here’s a few more pics. I was outside earlier and that legendary southern Nevada wind kicked up. I was afraid the darn thing would take flight on it’s own.
She’s a tail sitter, I forgot about that [:(].
Replaced the pitot with a straight pin. Probably not right but it looks a whole lot better.
Ditto to what everyone has said! Very nice looking B-25. Hope to see another aircraft in the not too distant future. You can always hang them from the kid’s bedroom ceilings.

Very nice. I’ve done two of these gunships as well using the AM kit…they were certainly great strafing and ground-attack planes. Check out the book: “Warpath Across the Pacific”…
Sharp looking bird G, and if the armour crowd hassles you too much, you can tell them it’s basically a tank with wings anyway. Tell them to compare weight of fire - even if it doesn’t work out in your favour, it’ll distract them! [whstl]
I had built one of these before, I’m thinking 20+ years ago now. The camo? Olive green plastic out of the box, with a “disruptive pattern” of spray can metallic green. (Hey, I was still learning!!) I now feel guilty enough about that to think about picking up a replacement & doing it right!
Hey G-man she’s worth the wait! She’s a beauty- I esp like the great job you did on the canopy. Even with pre-cut canopy masks I often get a mess on them. I hope you’re not going to make us wait 35 years for your next plane?
