Check the reviews out on the GM link—lots of stuff in the box for the money—5 markings options, two types of canopies, full color etch for the cockpit, correct open wheel-wells to the front with interior detail—don’t get much better than this…keep em coming, Eduard !!!
Sadly, Eduard announced that a TA-152 will NOT be released.

The new items article in last months FSM said that Eduard was going to issue a Ta-152 as well as the Fw-190D. Where did you here that the Ta-152 was not going to come out?
I wonder why??? I mean, for just a couple of sprue changes you would have another cash-cow—doesn’t seem to make sense?
If you look at Eduard’s January newsletter, they flat out say they are not doing a 152. I’m pretty disappointed, but I believe that over a third party…
Maybe when the “weekend edition” issue comes out…[^o)]

Ya… BIG maybe… 34.00 is too much fer a single-engine, single seat… I’d go for 20.00 though…
Heck for $34, I’d definitely get one or two[:P] Seeing the way their kits have gone beyond expectation in terms of detailing and loads goodies, this is in my opinion cheap compared to some mfg’s that ask $45-60 which does not inclued colored PE and so forth…!!

Since I can’t find gas for .69 cents a gallon anymore that Edward kit is a relative bargain in that scale with those extras.[;)]
Heh, I’m on a fixed income… I draw the line at about 25.00 for a single-engine-single-seat 1/48th bird… I don’t care about PE an’ all that, don’t need it, don’t buy it, barely use it if it’s included… I will use included panels sometimes, though the plastic ones are OK too. Also, I can control the foil tape I use better than the PE, because I like to have shoulder straps flopped around, hangin’ out, whatever, since I do dioramas… I’ve been making my own for about 35 years, sooo… Old dogs, fear change, etc., you get the idea…[t$t]
Wow…the kit even has two options for main wheels and two options for the tail-wheel !
IMO, Eduard has become the company of choice if they offer a quarter scale a/c you want to build… I base this opinion on what I’ve seen in their Hellcats, Bf 110s, WW I a/c and their FW series…Watch out Hasegawa and Tamiya…
I gotta agree with Manny. Eduard is certainly making their presence known in 1/48. You can get their high end kit with all the bells and whistles-PE, resin, masks etc, and pay for it all in package, their mid range kit with some add ons, or their “weekend edition” with just the basic plastic kit for a very affordable price. They leave Hasegawa in the dust and really the only area I see Tamiya having superiority is in ease of assembly/fit. But Eduard has lots more detail (especailly interior) for a lesser price.
Hans, all their WW2 single seat fighters of the weekend edition are under $20 at the LHSs here. The Bf-110 is near $30 in the same area. Very reasonable I believe. My finances are tight as well. I dont need the Masterclass or Royal Edition issue of their kits, but the WE is right up my alley. If they keep up on this trend, the Dora will also be around $20 when a WE issue comes out.
Great Models sent out my two copies; FedEx says they may be delivered by Friday - I can’t wait. From my point of view, these models are killer and a bargain. Start adding up the extras - not necessarily even the aftermarket parts, but even the scrap stuff we use and in combination with a cheaper kit, well the Eduard stuff starts to look like a bargain.
Going back to the Ta 152 question, in the newsletter Eduard said they may have a version of the D9 with the Ta 152 rudder, so that would be a nice thing. Still wish they would make the whole thing though…
Either way, I’m happy to have this. And, for inspiration Eduard put pictures of a completed model on the site - looks nice!
