I sa a picture of an Apache in Israeli Defense Force service in desert camo scheme. What is the model type of the Apache? Is it Alpha model or the newer Delta model? What are the nearest color usable for a 1/72 kit?
Any infor is very very much appreciated. Thanks in advance?
From the below pics, they look like “A” models.
Paint looks like a overall Armor Sand color and a medium brown for the camo spots and a lighter sand or camo gray underneath.
This one looks to be sand and medium green.
According to Air Forces Monthly, the Israelis are standing down their AH-64A ops so they can send them back to Arizona to be refitted as AH-64Ds. They’ve just stood up a squadron of Ds and IIRC they will do so with the next squadron next year.
Nice! Now I can get a Delta model of the Apache and make it Israeli. This is sweet!
Hey Cobra, AH-64D’s are also known as the Longbow Apache. The Longbow is a advanced radar system that the US plants to fit all its aircraft with.

No worries! Actually, that is an Apache cockpit. Cobrahistorian comes from my first book, which was on the Cobra in Vietnam. I’m actually in Army flight training right now and will be flying Longbows in about three months. My second book on the AH-64 will be coming out later this year. It is an incredible machine! This one was out at our stagefield last Friday.
As a side note, only 1 in 3 AH-64Ds is actually a “Longbow”. The other two have the same avionics, etc, but do not have the fire control radar (making them lighter, with somewhat better performance).
