I’m building the Hasegawa 1/700 Ise, and the instructions are only in Japanese. The build up doesn’t seem too difficult but I have no idea what colors it calls for. Anyone know what colors I should use?
What time period? White Ensign sells the IJN colors you’d need, but more importantly, they also sell the paint chips for the IJN grays.
There were several yards that built and refit warships, Kure, Sasebo, etc…and each had their own particular shades of paint. Depending upon where Ise received her last refit, that’s probably the color she wore.

Thanks for the reply Jeff. I guess I’ve got some research to do. I didn’t realize there was so much more to it than picking the right shade of grey. This is basically my first ship build, and my lack of modelling skills is only surpassed by my lack knowledge in this subject.
