You’re better off investing in some Shep Paine books that have a treasure trove of knowledge versus a questionable DVD.
You’d be surprised if you can find many great video clips at www.youtube.com for free. That’s another place than this forum where I learn a great deal from other modelers. Somebody posted clips from youtube.com in this forum not long time and it was one of the best clips I have seen.
I have seen this dvd. It is decent, but like others have said, check out Shep Paine and also the free videos on youtube.
I have this DVD, bought it a couple years ago. I found it helpful, as there is a difference between even the best on-line tutorial and actually watching a guy sitting at his bench and doing a project from start to finish. He takes one model kit and builds it from the ground up, checking it against his actual vehicle reference photos, and on with weathering and such. His techniques are only one set of many possible ways to approach a model (for example, he uses preshading with an AB on this one). As ours is usually a solitary art and not a team sport, as a beginner I got something out of being able to look over an accomplished modeler’s shoulder so to speak.

Youtube is an absolute GOLDMINE for modelling information! I’ve used so many clips on there to my great advantage!
I have found everything from videos covering washes, pigments, bending PE, using AB’s, step-by-step guides, stowage - you name it and it’ll be on there.
If you want this DVD and you feel it will help your builds (I must admit it looks very good) then I’d go for it but NEVER overlook Youtube which has it ALL and for free!!! Some of these types of DVD are horrifically overpriced sometimes-how much is this one?
