Is this a Classic or what??

Sprue Bros currently has some good deals on Classic Airframe aircraft models. Since my main LHS is limited to HobLob, I have no experience with this brand. I would appreciate any comments re: fit, quality, etc.

I haven’t heard anything that would make me stay away from them, but I haven’t built one yet either,

I’ll go look.

Their newer kits are pretty good but some of their older kits are difficult…limited run injection molding types…

As Manny said they’re limited run kits, so they require a great deal more work than you’d put into a regular kit. Still as limited run goes Classic Airframes seems to be some of the better kits of they type. Just be prepared for a great deal of puttying and sanding.

This 1/48th Vampire is a Classic Airframes kit I built late last year:

Excellent kits, covering some subjects not available otherwise, though I’ll second Herr Feldmarschall in that it helps to have some experience with limited-run kits. But it’s worth it to get them and stretch your modeling muscles, and extend your skills.

Best regards,

Brad

What a timely thread, I was just about to ask what kits (if any) you all have a difficult time locating. I’ve noticed when looking for lessor known, specific variants or imited produced aircraft (e.g., Boulton-Paul Defiant, Bristol Blenheim, Ju-88A etc. for BoB theme), depending upon scale (1/48 for me due to Goldilocks sizing) the offerings are sparse or none and if there is a kit out there it seems to always be a Classic Airframe (which is now OOB).
