Well I celebrated a raise last week with a little shopping trip online,and the mailman brought 4 boxes with all this, funny it seemed alot smaller in my head My fellow modelers is there any hope for me or am I in the collecting boxes stage of modeling. [:O] My wife would not be happy I will have to hide them before she gets home lol.

That’s quite the haul. I built the little Trump BTR. It went together well. There was the odd fit problem, some flash and some obvious sink holes, but nothing serious. It was a fun build.
Somebody’s got to support the economy. LOL Congrats on the new stash.
Just put them in one box, disguised as something else and cram it in the garage. That’s what my buddy down the street did, until his wife cleaned the garage out. [swg]

Looks like about the same number of kits I end up with after a mail-order session…I just don’t un-box them until after Her leaves the house…
Just get your wife something and shee’ll forget all about the kits you bought.
My stash is next to nothing compared to some of yours. Actually, I am down to just two so I will need to replenish soon. When I do make a big addition (which for me is only 5 or 6), I don’t have to worry about my wife complaining, as we have come to an understanding. She doesn’t ask how much I spend on models, and I don’t ask her how much she spends on cross-stitch and knitting. Now if we only had enough money to buy food…
After that he just started rotating his stash like he was straighting the room up and re-organizing everything so she wouldn’t notice … I just laughed. Man, stand up and be counted dude! [:)]
Just use the perfect counter-argument that it could be worse…they could all be 1/35 and therefore much larger to house and store as well as more expensive per kit. You’re actually saving by going this route. (Hey if it works for the “X% of sale” psychology, why not here too? [:D] ).
“CHAMPS”? If we turn the stash-size thing into some sort of a contest, everybody’s is going to get out of hand reaaaaalllly quickly.

Nope, no hope; it’s all downhill after this. Before you know it, you’ll have 20 or 30 kits squirreled away here and there; I’ve got (at last count) 133, but they take up about half of my room.
I seem to recall a “show us your stash” thread going,some of the pictures looked like the local hobby shop,some had multiples of the exact same kits !!! and I sometimes feel guilty looking at my meagre stash.
Congrats on getting a raise and using it wisely by supporting your LHS. When I got back into the hobby I started with a little shopping spree myself. Now all the shelves in “My Room” are overflowing, the closet is stuffed and she never complained at all–until I started filling her linen closet too! I stopped counting when it hit 500. So yes, there is hope for you yet. And you don’t need help, you need another raise! Can’t talk—must…build.[troll]
