i was wonderin if there was any more of the 1/72 scale airfix TSR-2 kits still out there, unbuilt in the box of course. i have one still in the box untouched and i wonderes if there wasnt many still around would it be worth much?

i have one of the 1/48 scale TSR-2’s aswell unbuilt of course
I see 1/72 TSR-2s on ebay now and then, so they are out there. Not really expensive but they do go for more than the typical airfix, I think the last one I was watching sold for $30 or so. The 1/48 version is pretty common since it was released more recently.
oh right i heard it is a difficult build. should i hang on to it or build it?
I would say build it, as I don’t imagine it will be so long until Airfix re-release the 1/72.
I Have only done the 1/48, which had a few issues, but none very serious - although I imagine these issues will be harder to fix on the 1/72. The main problems are;
The intakes don’t sit very well against the fuse - nothing some sanding (pre-assembly) won’t fix.
The wing does not sit far enough down into the fuse - this can be sorted by removing material from the underside of the wing, where it joins the fuse.
The radome has a prominent ring around it at the rear, which doesn’t exist - again, sanding will take care of it.
The Canopy takes a bit of messing around to fit properly.
The landing gear is reputed to be flimsy, but if it’s constructed properly, it’s just fine.
These are all pretty obvious problems if not taken care of before hand, but are all easily dealt with.
I agree. Airfix is re-releasing a lot of stuff so probably the TSR-2 will be back.
There are strong rumours that Airfix are releasing a version of the TSR-2 that appeared in a Japanese anime series Stratos 4.
hmmm thanks for the advice it will definetely be a future build. i am planing on buying the eduard big ed set for the 1/48 scale version and superdetailing it i probably wont put as much effort into the 1/72 as i prefer larger models
