Is there a tutorial for photoetch?

Howdy. As you may have read, I’m building Revell’s Saratoga, and just ordered photoetch rails for it. I’ve been looking, and I have only found vauge references on how to attatch them.

Is there a tutorial for the best way to attatch them? This will be my first try at using them. Thanks!!![:)]

you will need to use super glue to attach the photoetch to styrene…you will also need some bending tools,a good tweezers, magnification, bright lighting and above all, patience,to do photoetch effectively. take your time and work your way through it. It will be very daunting at first but the payoff is absolutely worth it,so dont get discouraged if you hit snags ( alas, you will!) along the way…photoetch is one of the best things to come along for modellers since super glue…as for a tutorial,I have no clue[%-)]

picked these tips up at nautical research guild convention in san diego last oct:

get a board and tape it so sticky side is up. this represents the deck the railing will go on. cut and shape using model then stick on the tape. when you are done, you will have all the railings for all the decks laid out and vertical. this way you can air brush all the railings at one time and you know exactly where each piece goes.

cut low stick tape into small strips and attach them vertically along the hule where you are going to place the railing. now the glued railing has something vertical to “lean” against.

mind you i am starting my first PE 1/350 BB so i haven’t done this yet.
