Opened up some PE that came with a kit today and it did not look quite like other PE I have gotten before. Was wondering if it is blemished or something or if it will be a problem.
Had the odd set do the same thing before … no problems encountered with it at all.
OK, then I wont sweat it, just paint it.
If you’re talking about the pink cast to it…thats just some patination from the acid. The copper from the brass alloy they used to make the pe set.
so long as the detail is there, there is nothing wrong with it.

That looks perfectly fine - it hasn’t disappeared on the floor,…yet
i think they didn’t wash it until too late, good thing there’s still details.
And I’m sure with the size of some of the pieces that will happen
