I just read that Tamiya’s 1/35 M1A2 has been released. Is it a better kit as far as details are concerned than Dragon M1A2?

I knew if I ordered one from somebody else, Tamiya would eventually release one. [banghead] Coming from Tamiya, it’s bound to be good, but you won’t get indy tracks and you’ll pay for the difference. Odds are, it’ll be worth it.

It is always like that. I, too have already bought a Dragon M1A2 a few weeks back. I don’t think the shop will accept it if I return it now.
I wanted to do another Abrams so, I picked up Dragon’s M1A1-HA Bagdad Iraqi Freedom kit. I haven’t seen anyone out with this kit yet (Tamiya M1A2) but, you can bet it will pop up on eBay soon!
The Tamiya looks good to me, but I believe there were some accuracy issues with their old M1A1 kit, which would be carried on to this kit as well, since it’s just the old kit spiced up with some new sprues.
But, like I said, it looks good to me!

Eric, Isn’t the kit your referring to kind of the same deal; released before, but rereleased with new goodies?

I have the same Dragon kit as Eric, and it is indeed their old M1A1HA with some update sprues. Really nice kit!

Well it is hard to tell - but i don’t think that the anti-slip coating is re-plicated here . That has been a nit pick of mine about the tamiya for a while . The Trumpter and DML kits have the anti - slip coating . Having the USMC M1A1 HA option is nice throw in the goddie set and it looks tempting to me … toad out

Heck the Dragon kit looks pretty good to me. Infact i dont see anything striking about the tamiya that shows its better. They both look like abrams godda* it. thats good enuf for me. and for more than 10 dollars cheaper…

no anti slip surface but got M1A1 HA sounds nice though . but tamiya didnt fix other minor changes though i just got my italeri M1A2 though sighs neeed to buy another again

I’m sure some of ya’ll out there already have the “new” Tamiya kit, but I just took a solid rummage through the box at the ol’ LHS just to see what it’s all about.
Looks pretty good to me. It’s their same old M1A1 kit, but with extra sprues to make a current M1A2 or M1A1 HA, with decals and options for 6 vehicles.
Anybody building one yet?
i havent seen it yet , a fren of mine crazy for it now . is the comander turret movable ?
