Is "tasca" a good company?

I’m starting to see them on ebay, and they make a few models I’d like to build, but a the same time, I’d like to avoid another “zvesda” if possible.

thanks

I’ve only built one kit by them, the Luchs, and it was a beautifully engineered and produced kit. Their Firefly Vc is supposed to be just as good, don’t know about any of their earlier offerings though.

Tasca is a small Japanese company that makes an extremely nice PzKpfw II Ausf. L “Luchs”. Two different variants (same kit but some different fittings in the late kit). They also make a Kubelwagen that is boxed by Hasegawa and Dragon.

everything i have read says they are good, the luchs is very highly rated as is the new firefly i hope to one day find a good deal on ebay on a luchs i have read more than one person say this is the best kit they have ever built.

I concur. The Tasca Luchs is excellent.

I’ve built two of their kits, and they are better than Dragon. Definitely good.

Cool-

Thanks, I wanted to build the Luchs, as the only other one I have (of the Luchs) is by ICM, and while not bad, the fit is rather fiddly.

Perhaps some (tasca) Luchs pics please?

The Luchs and new Firefly are potentially the singularly best 1/35 engineered, designed and accurate kits to date. They’re THAT good. Tasca has indicated that they plan on releasing more Sherman variants.

I got mine from Luckymodels. Good prices and shipping

Careful, that’s “Luckymodel” - if you put the “s” there it will take you somewhere where you may not want to go (not kid or work safe) [:O]

Are you kiddin’, you won’t be gettin’ a Zvesda! Tasca are the mutt’s nuts!!

I have read nothing but excellent reviews about this company and their products. I read so many good things about their Firefly, that I bought one off of their website on a Saturday, two weeks before Christmas. I received it the following Wednesday. I would have gotten it Tuesday if I had been home to sign for it. That’s four days shipping time from Japan to Maryland.

Tasca models of Japan is an excellent company. Their moldings are quite exquisite and have alot of surface detail so that you can keep photoetch to a minimum. Perfect fit and some unique workable features make these kits stand out. Tasca was originally called “Bego” You may have seen their earlier kits from Hasagawa labled on the outside “Bego version”. Get their kits if the subject matter interests you. You will be pleasantly surprized.

They also sold their molds to other companies like dragon. Type-82 was a bego design.

There was rumor that Tasca are people who used to work for Tamiya. It makes sense because you find the perfect fitting on tasca kits just like Tamiya, but without the simplicity approach, rather more attention paid to details. I think Tasca’s instructions layouts are similar to Tamiya too.

Only 1 complain, their R&D work on like snail pace.
