I noticed in the New Products section of September’s issue of FSM a re-pop of Monogram’s 1/48th scale C-47.
The box was pure Monogram with no mention of Revell on the box or in the text.
Anybody know if Monogram is back as a serarate entity?

Some older Monogram kits are re popped by Revell with the original boxing and artwork. It is just a marketing thing. The two companies are still under the Revell banner.
Monogram never went away. When Revell and Monogram merged, the merged company stayed at Monogram’s HQ in Illinois. The Revell company HQ in California went away. Revell was more well known internationally because of Revell Germany so the merged company took the Revell name over the Monogram name.
Every once in a while, they release nostalgic kits under the original labeling (i.e. Renwal, Aurora, Revell or Monogram). They also release some kits under the brand name that was more well known for that genre.

Ditto on the Renwal nostalgia re-release except it was the sub “George Washington”
I visited the Revell plant in Germany and it is a whole different ball game.They have kits that you will never see here.Revell is the main brand name .Raise panel lines do not exist there.they have a whole new tooling and a great decal options than the norm.They have the 1/32 nd scale F-4E luftwaffe /Israeli which rivals all the Tamiya 1/32 F4’s.I took home one.Their Helicopters are very detailed and w/engines.I went to the Nurnberg model convention which makes the I.P.M.S. Nationals look bad,and seen the upcoming new models on display .It was a very good sight to see.
Raised panel lines are not a hard-and-fast subject. Panel lines on the real subject may be raised, where panels overlap and depending on the technique used to attach panels; recessed; or butt-joined (“Huh huh, you thaid ‘butt’!”). The question to ask is whether raised or recessed lines are appropriate for the specific subject.

Revell Germany does some beautiful kits… especially their new 1/32 aircraft. Very affordably priced at that… And some very nice 1/35 Bundeswehr AFVs too!
You know the old Monogram company (which became Revell-Monogram, then just Revell) now owns Revell Germany.
I still like the old Revell 1/32 aircraft kits, too. And the F3F/Gulfhawk and the Visible P-51 that Monogram did. I know they all have their various flaws, which one would expect for kits designed back then, but they can still each be built into a nice model of the respective subject.
I missed the 1990s re-issue of the Gulfhawk and have been sorry ever since.
Fortunately, I bought a Revell Germany issue Phantom Mustang on clearance at Hobby Lobby.
Sure wish the old Monogram Phantom Mustang base decal had been included with the kit.
What ever name they go by Revell, Revell/Monogram. I do hope they re-issue the 1/24 scale Series II Land Rover that Monogram put out in the 70’s.

Indirectly. Revell and Revell/Germany separated in 2006 and then Revell was bought by Hobbico in 2007. Hobbico later bought Revell/Germany, and now the two live under one roof gain. Still operate as separate companies, though they share the same web site and distribute each others products. An example is the F-101B Voodoo which I ended up with both versions. The kits are identical but the decals offered by the German kit were far superior to the USA version.
Hobbico’s big thing is RC and they are also the distributor of Hasegawa hits.
