Would it be possible to get some kind of real time communcation? Something like AOL instant messenger, only for this site. It would be cool to be able to talk to someone and have modeling discussions. Maybe this would take away from people actually posting or it’s just not what the site is about. Any thoughts?
It’s been discussed a gazillion times before… there was a beta chat room but you had to be chosen as a beta tester and I really have no clue how or why I was chosen. Anyhoo, there was almost never anyone in it and I only participated in a couple of chats with a few guys. Not really my cup of tea, though.

I wonder if they just set up a chat area and made it available to the site if it would get used more. It seems there are usually a good amount of people on at any given time. It might lead to a more “community” feeling to the community forum. [:)]
Armorama used to have an integrated chat room but it was too much for the original server. They eventually went to creating an MSN sister site that has a chat room. The benefit to this is that each member who signed up got an extra 3MB of storage space for banner or signature file hosting as well as a place to upload in progress photos and the like. It was free too.
