I want to make parts out of candle wax and I wonder if it is possible to paint wax with acrylic paint?
Never tried it, but I think it will be highly unlikely to work.
The water-based acrylic paint will tend to bead on the surface of the wax and not flow smoothly.
You may be better served by spraying a few light coats of an enamel primer (Krylon, Plasticoat) and then apply the acrylic paint over that. I think I brush-painted some Testor’s square bottle enamels on a candle as a Christmas decoration many eons ago.
