But sometimes, I see things like this and I wonder…
I went down to the dungeon to say hi to the kits… sorta trying to get myself motivated to get back to building again. I often do this, and often fail…
But this time I had the camera along, and started snapping some photos. I see these rows of boxes on an almost daily basis, and, most of the time, nothing jumps out at me. So I figured that if something stood out in some of the photos, I might take that as a sign.
Well, this shot stood out…
If there is a ‘God’, does he play little tricks like this?
Something tells me, not directly, no…
Perhaps it was my Dad, with whom I shared this hobby for so many years?
Perhaps…
I wonder if this is indeed a ‘sign’…
Or just a case of a clumsy photographer whose hand blocked the flash…
Well let’s see…No, that’sa a P-40, and that’s a P-40. Hey, there ain’t no sign here, there’s just a lotta P-40’s!! Whatever. build at least one, it might be the only male and this problem will be solved. I suggest the P-40N.
I’m hoping one of these days I’ll catch a P-40N 15,000th at a super low price. Too much of a tight-wad I guess. I would say go ahead and pic a P-40 too, can’t go wrong.
Well its a sign for sure. But where everyone is getting the idea that you should build a p 40 is beyond me. Clearly you should build a P 47D Razorback, in 1/48, Wolfpack markings, Out of the Box. Hope this helps. [:-^]
Believe it or don’t… I do have one’a them real-fast-black-Habu jobs in the dungeon. Hmmm…
Ah… well… not exactly wealthy… maintaining such reserves of plastic ensures my status as a poor man… not to mention the dent vintage photo collecting can put in the wallet…
Hmmm…
I don’t have that many…
Do I?
Well… maybe…
A few more down there…
And some bagged kits…
Box-o-fixins 'fer P-40s…
A few… ‘in progress’…
And one FINISHED!! (albeit a POS)
I even gots me one’a them-there old balsa jobs…
And then there’s the box of bagged Monogram kits… the books and rags, the photos, the website, the Hawk in the 'ole barn, the book proj… oops, almost let the cat outta the bag… oh yes, and the decals… OH, the decals!!!
Okay, I offer no arguments… perhaps I am somewhat obsessive…
Well Steve I must say the P 40 is probably my favorite allied fighter. The picture of my uncles P 40N he flew in the Aleutians has been on my wall since I was very young. However you have more P 40s than I have kits built and unbuilt. So since you are going to be building that P 47 next and wont have time to get to all those P 40s, I could help you build a couple of them…[:-^]
There have been several threads over the last few months both on this forum and ARC showing various stash numbers & photos. Many number into the multiple hundreds and a few even into the thousands. Most are not quite as single minded as Steve with his P-40 collection.
