Just to share with you guys my recently finished Irish Air Corps Spitfire Tr.IX using Hasegawa 1/48 kit and the new Brrigade Models conversion.
The rear canopy was a little “thick” looking, but a quick dip in Future sorts that out. No real extras other than the Bridgade bits.
Altogether a really cool looking kit.
Now, back to the “before” version of this aircraft, ML 407 which I am building for the D-Day GB.

However, I have a mistake!![:I]
As has been pointed out, IAC 162 is the Grace Spitfire, ML 407. Not the one pictured. My intnetion had been to strip the OTHER two-seater I have and spray it green and use the nice, Hasegawa/Brigade kits as 162.
I had a very late night that night and was very tired.
So, apologises. And just to make it all better>>>>>
I had made this one first, kit-bashing the Airfix/Otaki ( or is it the Arii kit) in 1/48. The under-wing was too flat, so that was cut off and replaced by one I had spare. Then the second air-intake was added. The rear cockpit is hte kit cockpit with an Aries resin cockpit in the front postion. We, Oggy and I, cut the cockpit section out, moved it forward and then cut out the rear position.
Once completed, we compared with the Brigade kit and we were only out by a mill or two. Amonth or so later, as we searched high and low for a suitable canopy for the rear section, Brigade brings out it’s conversion kit. I wrote to him and asked if he had a spare rear canopy for my model and he sent me THREE!! Nice guy.
The paint job is not so good. I wasa little heavy with the Tamiya silver aluminun. Made doing the panel lines difficult, so I just tried to make it as rough as possible to show use. This was also before I started using Future for the canopy.

And just to calrify, 162 was previously ML 407 with the RAF on D-Day.
