Iraqi Sea Fury (Look ma, it's twins)

To prevent any further whining and complaining by a particular party (who shall forevermore remain nameless), I’ve been coerced into posting pics of a couple of incomplete builds.
These are two 1/48 Hobbycraft Sea Fury F.B. Mk11kits that have been “de-navalised” by the removal of the tailhook and fairing.

The model represents a Sea Fury Mk.60 originally owned and operated by the Iraqi Air Force, now owned and restored by Rob Poynton of Perth, Western Australia, and one of the models will be presented to him . See www.panamajacks.com.au for pics of the actual aircraft, which has been beautifully restored to flying condition.
The paint (so far) has been Humbrol, Dark Earth and Mid Stone with Azure Blue undersides (they’ll get a squirt very soon) - the pic you see is of the models after a coat of Future nad some decals - one model will be finished in pristine condition (like the actual aircraft) and the other will be dirtied up to make it look like an operational aircraft - Rob can pick whickever one he chooses.
I used Ventura decals with custom made aircraft ID numbers printed on an ALPS printer, and a War Eagle (I think!!) resin detail set.
I’ll post more pics when I finish them off.

Looks great, as usual. Interestin subject.

It’s quite interesting how much of a resemblance the fuselage of the Fury has to the Dynavector Westland Wyvern I’m currently building. I’d not noticed it before, despite seeing a Fury last October flying at Duxford (not for long - I think it may have had a problem).

I wonder if that’s coincidental, or was there some sharing of ideas going on?

And how much the wings look like a P-47N.

Nice looking builds Lee
