"Iraqi Freedom" M2A2 Bradley W.I.P.

Ditto the above, I browse (lurk?) many WIP for reference, ideas and enjoyment. Many times I have nothing intelligent to contribute since Im a relative rookie. I tend to be more vocal in the GB WIPs. But we are watching

ok, bump to the top, keep posting I want to see how “THE MOVIE” ends [:-^][swg] the bradely is one of the few current AFVs I want to model so don’t stop!

You could enter this in the APC/IFV GB if you like, As long as you havn’t painted it yet.

Looks great so far, lookin forward to some updates!

Thats all I got from that site and I hope it will help some of you out. I know I know some of you may say or ask why did I give all the info that some of them should be looking up for them self. I don’t think that way, I have grown up to believe that we as a good people are to try to help ower fellow man as much as some of us can.

So to my haters An to all those that like to give the most help you can

Here’s some Info on one of the items., The Blast Running Gear with New Tracks
(Resin kit). If the kit cost is to high for some of you, this is what you can do. You can make it for your self (For those of you that have the Acad-kit

there are 3 shocks that are need on both sides just above the place where the wheels go. Placement is [From the front the 1st,2nd 3rd wheel strut and the 6th at the end and this is only for the wheel at the bottom.

Here’s the link for more info. and about that front drive wheel you can use the one from a M113 APC kit it’s a close match:

the Bradley drive wheel:

The M113 drive wheel:

There are 5 holes in the M113 wheel like the M2 wheel. If you like scratch building you can use parts from the Acad drive wheel and the M113 wheel to make the right look for the wheel. But this is only for those who like series scratchbuilding.

Oh and last thing to help some of you that have a favorit shopping site and dont want to shop (GM)-Grate Models. If you site has a search engine (some time this works) you can type in the stock letters an numbers and you will get a hit and some times not. As for me I shop (SQ)-Squadron., If you know the way the company that you buy from post’s it’s Stock ID you know that you may have to change pate of the stock ID to find it where you shop. Like this or for example:

I need eather the Blast (ERA kit) or the Verlin kit. Now I know that they sale the Verlin kits. An the stock ID’s are not like the GM stock ID. Of VPI2182 so I change the VIP to VE which is the stock ID letters for SQ and I hit the search to see what I get. An I find that it is out of stock but some time you can call and they will tell you when the next one will come in and send you E-Mails on it.

http://www.squadron.com/NoStock.asp?item=VE2182

But I think I’m going to call GM to try and get the kit. Hope this helps some of you. Let me know if you like this type of help?

You can call GM at ORDER TOLL FREE: 1-800-619-3402 or Please use there phone number 1-(801) 565-0823 / fax (801) 565-0836 if you need immediate assistance.

I’m back workin on this one now that I got my RR’s benchwork up. If I can ever find the instruction sheet, there might be an update in the next couple of days.[;)]

Looking forward to your progress. If you can’t find the instructions, the instructions for Tamiya’s M2A2 ODS are on-line here. Click on the Assembly Guide thumbnails. You should be able to use them since it is the same basic kit with half a sprue of extra parts for the ODS upgrades.

Keep us posted.

Thanks man, that was waaayyy more handy than digging around through piles of junk looking for them!

Hay man glad to see your back to work on this project. I just won 2nd place in a local show with my bradley. Here’s the first pace winner and my 2nd place winning M2A2 Bradley.

Update comming soon! I got alot of progress done on the turret, running gear is finsished, and a little bit more progress on the hull. Photos maybe later tonight or tomorrow.

O.K. here are the update pics!!!

I assembled and temporarily installed the running gear on both sides. The wheels will be removed for painting. I also added a few other pieces to the upper hull…

Such as the headlights…

I also assembled and installed the little hatch near the rear…

And I got started on the turret. At this point it’s about 70% finished…

I also took the time to drill out the end of the barrel…

And finally, I tacked on the side skirts and mocked up the whole thing…

Looking like a nice clean build. Keep us posted.

Mike, that’s looking really awesome!

Hey, also–I took a loook at your website—man, that Titanic wreckage you did was AWESOME! (That IS your model, right?)

INCREDIBLE!

Man your build makes me want to just drop all my othere work an do that one. You must admit the thing has a lot of detail for an academy kit. I love you background and the way you set up your lighting. It makes the images look so much more Professional. Keep it up, your on a roll now!![tup]

That wreck took 3 years from start to finish. I started when I was 17, so I guess the best years of my teenage life were taken up with it LOL! One year was research, and each section took a year of work respectively. I’m not sure if I ever wanna try something like that again! I’m starting a little work on the ammo boxes and such tonight, I may be able to get the hatches on and the turret ready for paint too maybe within the next couple of days. As for tomorrow though, I’m off to the Long Beach Grand Prix all weekend!!! GO CORVETTE RACING!!!

Oh yeah, that’s the Tamiya kit, not Academy…
