IRAQ M1046 TOW HUMVEE progress pics....

Well here is my progress so far on Tamiya’s M1046 humvee fixin to spray it tell me what you think , the rear ben is scratch built from styrene.

Full view pics are a little blurry so it’s tough to see all the detail but at first glance looks like a nice build so far! [tup]

Yeah Im still learning all the features on our camera sorry about the bad pics I will post some good ones when it get’s sprayed.

Looking good to me. Thanks for posting the pictures.

thanks for the comments guys I will try to get some better pics up when im done.

Yes the pics are a bit blurry and hard to give a solid assesment, but I will say that the rack on the rear is way out of scale. Your choice of styrene is to thick by at least .20. The thickness of the rack is thicker then the hull in 1/35th scale. I would remake the rack using thinner styrene. Can’t recommend anything for I am not into modern AFV’s, but I would do some research and use some pics as a reference.

HMM… thanks for the input Moses but I did do very particular resarch for the bins even pics and advice from a fellow modeler who did the same thing on a diorama, it could be the angle at which the pics were taken or the bluryness but the styrene is pretty down to scale considering the thikness and size of the real bin (which in some cases is made from scavenged 2x4’s according to my friend in the Marines) but I do appreciate the observation and any criticism is accepted.
Thanks

Ok jessiahkinnamon, I didn’t realise that it was meant to be 2x4’s. I thought the rack was supposed to be made of metal. If thats the case then deisregard my post. The build looks solid overall and look forward to more pics.

Hiya jess,
Heres one of the Tamiya Hummers that I completed about 4mnths ago. There was a lot of lil things added to the kit. Did you notice that Tamiya did not include a brake & gas pedal??. That was made from scratch.
The motorbike rack consists of 15 parts which were made from various sheet stock. Sorry bout the pix.
