Here’s what I do, I first dry brush white to highlight the dials. Then I cut out the instuments decals in groups of 2 or 3 at most or usually individually and apply them with tweezers and a toothpick. Once dry, I add a tiny amount of future to simulate glass over the instrument.
I do the same thing tedhealy describes, with two extra steps.
First, I hit the decals with decal softener after I apply them and really tighten them down. For me, that helps get rid of any overhanging edges and stuff, and they really sink down in the bezzles.
Also, before putting the Future on, I put some dullcoat on.
Ditto what Dubau said on that office tedhealy… nice work!
Yea I picked up a Decal Set from MicroMark and i will be using that. I just layed down a gloss coat and tomorrow I will lay out the declas on it and all that other stuff y’ll said hehehe
I will post some pics of it when that part is done.
There are some AM decals too… Mike Grant Decals has a nice set. I like Krystal Klear instead of Future. Looks like Elmer’s glue but dries … well… Krystal Klear. And can be tinted with food color… fordisplay screesn or tinted panels on windscreens… 1 application is great and 2 builds up a nice little piece of “glass”
