Iowa Class Upgrade?

Does anyone make a 1/350 upgrade kit to resemble the Desert Storm Iowa class boats that served? Wisconsin and Iowa were upgraded if memory serves. There were some changes to the decking to accomidate helicopters?

Thanks, Rusty

Iowa ,Wisconsin, Missouri ,and New Jersey were all modernized. The Tamiya New Jersey in 1/350 scale is really the best place to start.

For those wanting to model the Iowa class battleships at any point in their careers the best bet is to get a copy of “Iowa Class Battleships Their Design, Weapons, & Equipment” by Robert F. Sumrall. Published by the Naval Institute Press in 1988, reprinted 1989.

This book has multiple photos of the ships under construction and during their modernization as well as deck plans pre and post modernization and colored renderings in various color schemes. Also includes the never completed Illinois and Kentucky and some information about the even larger Montana class battleships that were never built.

This book is a must if you want to correctly model these ships.

Revell/Ceji had the New Jersey in 1984. It has the udgrades up to 1991 Gulf War1. Although Tamiya’s is probably. Mine was free.
