I have to admit that Im not a big fan of WWI Aviation, my intrest in aircraft starts about 1938. I did check out your builds. Very impressive. and while Im at it. Welcome to the Forum[#welcome]

There’s some very nice work in those galleries. I’m not particularly interested in WW1 aircraft, but I can appreciate a well built model of one. And all of these are great examples. Thanks for sharing.

Welcome Stephen,

Wow, you’ve done some fantastic work there!! Ahhh… the rigging stories you could tell I bet!

I enjoyed looking through your galleries, thank you very much for sharing them! [:)]

Take care,
Frank

Stephen is a master model builder, no doubt about it. Very helpful too when one has a question on the topic. [:D]

Mr. Lawson, it’s good to see you here.

First of all, welcome to the forums stephen. Very impressive work, it reminds me to start on my academy 1/48 sopwith camel. Thanks for sharing.

Very impressed mate! Don’t you just love those WWi planes, eh?
Keep up the good work and keep the pictures coming too.

Fantastic collection,very good work.

Pedro

Greetings Stephen!
Many thanks for all the help you gave me on my DVII. It’s almost to the decaling/painting stage. I’ve had to set it aside to take care of some “Real World” issues…daughters marriage, in-laws and such… but I am getting back to finish it and will post pics at the ol 'Drome and here.
Welcome!
kevin

Model on lads!

Would you like to know why I buy & Build WWII & Jet ACFT? Cause I just can’t buy and build enough Fabric Wing & Wire WWI ACFT in larger scale. Bottom line Beatuiful Builds, Georgeous Diaramas.

I had an offline request asking about the rigging material I use. Invariably these days it is invisible sewing thread. Monofilament about 5-8 mil in thickness. I have used fine wire but I have found its good for only short runs. (Wire = less than one and a half an inch in length for single runs.)

Wow !
that’s really fantastic work !
thanx 4 sharing it here, i’m looking forward 2 checking out more of ur builds !
thanx also 4 the info on rigging material, & 4 answering my rib tape question…
i was just reading the article on the Staaken Zeppelin last nite, that is one
awesome project… i can only repeat… wow !

Greetings all another offline request has been what was the time frame for these builds. I started doing only or primarily WWI 1/48 scale in 1991. Before that I had done WWI 1/72. Ocassionaly I will do an off topic kit but only as a rarity. All of the kits in my galleries are from 1992 to today.

Wow! I have always liked the WWI planes and have even tried two of them when I was younger and I was not very good…ok, there was no good at all in my rigging attempts. Your gallery is very impressive.

Jerry

Greetings all; Thanks coldwar,
The relative theme here seems to be some of you are concerned about rigging. While it is not an absolute requirement for a build there are WWI kits with very little external rigging. In time ( after a couple of builds) rigging is a snap. Never say never! Model On!

Your work speaks for itself Stephen. Thank you for sharing your gallery’s with us your builds are one and each works of art. Welcome to the forum and look forward to seeing more of your fine work and I’m sure input to the many questions that arise on our forum. Semper fi, mike

Fantastic!!
Great work, the diorama story was very interesting to read. Thanks for the time you spent on the pictures to show us and of the story!!! Great modelling
