I thought it would be neat to line 'em up for a roll call. Hate to stumble across these guys in the Ardennes.
Just recovered from a ditch…

I hope I didn’t miss anyone…

Nice unit we put together there!
Nice to see them all lined up in a row like that to showcase all the work done on MTD. Hurrah for the 172nd! [:D]
Nice! Way to go 172nd! Thanks for putting them all together Ausf!
Way to go guys. (Applause) What was the average time each of you spent on the build?
Well they only stole the roadwheels off of phroosh’s and looks like they stole my whole Tiger I guess I should have bought the detachable face CD player and cheaper speakers.
Well at least I got pics for the insurance!

Wow that is a lot of tigers. I don’t think I can build that much in my lifetime. Nice job!!!
Wow a column of neat looking Tigers. Great works guys.
Now let me position my Firefly somewhere. He-he-he.
Nicely done, guys. Good work in such a short time.
More than I thought I would, I didn’t have too much down time, I expected more. I went from 8 AM to 10:30 PM and there always seemed to be something that needed attention. Then there was a mad rush at the end on the brink of exhaustion where I sort of tossed it a bit. If you notice, the Balkenkreuz is a little small for a Tiger. I didn’t bother searching for the Revell decal sheet, just grabbed the first thing I came across, a 1/144 Dragon sheet (I just realized I broke the rules.) whose decals ended up on the back of my fingers somehow while I was touching up the wash. I stuck 'em back on and hit it with Buff (my biggest regret). In retro, I wouldn’t change a thing, it was truly a blast!
On to next year…
Tigerman, I only spend 6 to 6 1/2 hours working on my Tiger on that fateful day. That was enough to build the tank, with a few improvements thrown in. In retrospect, I’d have spent more time building the tracks, I mean leaving more time for them to dry properly before adding more links.
I’ve now spent an additional 3 hours for priming, base coat, painting the markings and the wash. I should complete today, with an additional 2 to 3 hours of work, I think.
It was indeed a blast! Can’t wait for next year’s Mad Tiger Day…!
Looks awesome!! 16 huh. I thought there was more than that.
from an observer it was a fantastic build. my hats off to all of you for what you accomplished.
