Introduction, hello all

Hello everybody, I’m a disabled combat veteran. I recently got back into the world of building 1/35 scale models specifically tank models and a Bailey bridge. I’ve done about 15 over the last two months I do about a model every four or five days. Never use decals. I use rough hand painted combat finishes paint. And mock up some other parts onto the vehicle I’m working on. My latest finish was an FV4005. Painted for a Berlin brigade deployment, this was in the 50s. But this vehicle never materialized. They only built three, and only one still exist. My favorite complex build was a leopard 2A6 CAN. Pic attached.

Welcome to the hobby and to the forum, Dean! And thank you for serving!

Welcome aboard. I look forward to seeing your builds. Sounds like you’re cranking out the kits.

Thank you, sir. I appreciate it. Fine modeling keeps my head in check. It’s had a lot of damage. But I see straight see well and come walk a fairly straight line.

Welcome to the forum and THANK YOU for your service. Modeling is a great hobby for mental health along with occupational therapy. When I’m feeling stressed to go to work on my workbench and before you know it 2-3 hours have slipped by and I’m feeling a lot better.
The only advice that I can offer is to build for you and what makes you happy and not to worry what other people think or say. Once again, thank you for making your sacrifice.

Thank you, sir. I salute you. I do models about 6 to 8 hours a day almost every day of the week unless I take a kayak out on Lake Mead. I don’t use any decals and I hand paint each model for a difference scenario. I have lots of baggage because that’s reality.

Besides your work looks very fine as it is.

That looks serene! There’s nothing like a day on the water to realign your thoughts.

A nice leisurely ride on my cycle does it for me especially with the Fall colors in full display.
