introduction/glencoe

Hi, just joined, have a quick question for anyone who might have answer. Is Glencoe still in existence, if so, how to contact, and if not, what happened. I loved the reissues they did of the 50’s spaceships. Thanks ahead of time for any replies/help. Don’t dismay if awhile before I check back, that’s just how my life works, which is to say, not very well.

Hi! I’m “new” too! Never heard of glencoe. Sorry bout that. Boy! These instructions, about entering the forum, are like “Italeri’s” Model instructions. . . .vague!
Never been there, haven’t done this, before, either!
So? What do I do, next?

Hello LeeCody, Welcome to the forum. You can still buy Glencoe kits here’s a website that sells them. http://www.rollmodels.net/search/newsrch.php I hope that helps some. I didn’t see any of the 50’s Sci-Fi kits but I remember them.[;)]

Alright !!! 2 newbees in one shot !!!

Welcome to FSM Lee and rclausen [#welcome] [#welcome]

Good to have both of you join us here at the forums.

Sorry Lee, you’re question I can’t answer but hopefully someone else will be able to.

As far as navigating around the forums rclausen, you’ve done fine so far. Take a bit of time and look around, check out the various forums. There’s lots to choose from and many a great modeller waiting to answer any questions you may have.

Enjoy the forums !!!

Welcome rclausen117, What model information do you have to share? What model related thing do you have a guestion about? Look over the different topics in the forums and give your opinion or ask your questions Just jump in and particapate. Best place to start is just read what everyone is saying[;)].

Thanks, Woody and rclausen117, for your quick replies. I should explain I use the computers at the local campus library, and public library, so I’m not always available to reply quick, in midwest, 7:34 P.M. now, and they’ll be kicking me out soon. I may not be back for few days. rclausen117, I hope you saw Woody’s reply, heres a web site

http://www.vttbots.com/museum2.html

model builder whose built several kits, including the Glencoe reissues of the 50’s spaceships, just stumbled across this myself the other day. I have most of these, still in box, unbuilt. Reason for asking about Glencoe, friend kind of interested in getting same kits, but Glencoe website seems to be dead, same of company ?

Again, thanks for any info.

Lee

Lee, that is a neat site. [8D] All kinds of cool collectables! I don’t know if Glenco went out of business but they can’t be too long gone. If I find a source for the Glencoe Sci-Fi kits I’ll try to let you know about them. Have you tried ebay?

Ofcourse, if I wasn’t so lazy, I might have done this earlier, here’s another site that sells Glencoe Models ( is correct spelling for company )

http://www.udisco.com/hobbies/home.htm

but appear to not have 50’s kits.

Lee

Correcting, do have nuclear spacestation, spacemen, and 50’s fUFO ( flying saucer ).

Hello Lee and Welcome Aboard!

Hello rclausen and Welcome Aboard!

Welcome, gentleman!
I think the only Glencoe kit I ever built was a stegosaurus skeleton!

I’m building a Glencoe kit now. Two really, the Spirit of St. Louis(1/110),working on now, and the Wright Flyer(1/103), to do. Overly thick and little detail. But I like the size and I’m scratch building the cockpit.
My LHS(local hobby shop) carries some Glencoe. He had the station and a rocket last time I was in, a while back. Here’s the address:http://www.traintownhobbycrafts.com. Paul is pretty good at getting stuff if he can.
Email him. Might work out.

HEY!!! Rclaussen how can you be a newbe if you joined on 7 august?? Somethings fishy here…
